ifilm English TV to air new movie ‘The Residents of the Villas’

ifilm’s new movie ‘The Residents of the Villas’ (Villa Residents) has been scheduled to be aired on Saturday night.

The movie, directed by Monir Qeidi and produced by Saeed Malekan, tells the story of the women who sacrificed everything to be with their loved ones during the war waged on Iran by Iraq during the 1980s.

Sorayya Qasemi, Saber Abar, Anahita Afshar, Tannaz Tabatabaee, Parinaz Izadyar, Giti Qasemi, and Ali Shadman are on the cast list of the movie.

‘The Residents of the Villas’ won the awards for the best supporting actress, best visual effects, and best first-film director at the 35th Fajr Film Festival, as well as several nominations and awards at other Iranian galas.

The flick is the winner of the Best Supporting Actress award at the 58th Asia-Pacific Film Festival and the second prize of the Vitré Iranian Film Festival.

It has gone on screen at the Kerala International Film Festival in India, the Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh, the Hiroshima Peace Film Festival in Japan, the Asian Film Festival in Spain, and the Bucharest Asian Film Festival in Romania.

‘The Residents of the Villas’, made in 2016, is scheduled to go on air at 22:00 GMT.

ifilm English will also repeat the movie the next day at 04:00, 10:00 and 16:00 (all GMT times).
